Pipeline transportation model with pressure pulsation for high-concentration viscous paste

High-concentration viscous paste has a large conveying resistance during transport in high-pressure long-distance pipelines. When the pump reverses, pipeline flows back, which not only causes violent vibration of system, but also reduces efficiency. To study transient flow characteristics and backflow reverse process, we established quasi-two-dimensional model for transportation straight pipe based on constitutive equation viscoplastic fluid assumed that an axisymmetric weak compressibility. The finite-difference method was used to solve model. Using this model, pressure velocity distributions along under different working conditions were investigated, results indicated fluctuation amplitude is significantly reduced by friction. decreases approximately as exponential function. calculation agreed well with previous analysis experimental data, validating This provides valuable guidance analyzing impulse high-concentration systems.
